(Rita from Jungledyret)

Another rough sketch that came about from dgetting the urge to draw with the tablet before bed last week.

This time I was trying to remember her look of being more soft, rounded, and baggy from film 1.

Again, I couldn't help but want to quickly color it, and I liked how it turned out, and again used a few Photoshop art filters to blend it all together. I wanted a urban background like in the movie, so I starting with just a wall and a drain, but now that I look at it, I wasn't looking at the overall scale when I added the window and a garbage can later, as Rita's looking a little big :)

So if you notice that, just remember, it was 4am :)

Gah! Found a reference to your deviant-page on fchan. I must say that finding someone else who likes Hugo warms my silly little heart.

I thought I was alone so far :)

I remember going to a local cinema to see the 2nd movie... and I was like 16 and everybody else was either 5-6 or a way older parent.

Glad to meet another fan. I discovered Hugo on the internet since in the US it was never in theaters or distributed. The Don Bluth style also attracted me in film 1. It was like finding lost treasure during this time of CG dominated animation. It was also different seeing cute characters actually form some kind of relationship.

You might enjoy this little music video I did exploring that:

Oh, I can understand that cinema experience. When I was 16, 1997, I went by myself to see "Cats Don't Dance". There were only young kids and parents there, but I just had to go. More embarrassing was when several rows ahead a kid asked his mom why I was there, lol. :)

Wow, you drew Rita really cute >w< And when i saw it, I just assumed the trashcan and pipe were more in the background. She's just really close to us <:

Well, I see it this way: Rita is sitting straight before the camera-occular, so it´s no wonder the things in the background are a little bit smaller! ;) Another thing that speaks for my theory is the fact that Rita seems to be more focussed than the background!

Guess I don´t have to mention that the expression of this picture is adorable. You could say Rita is the sunrise that brightensup this alley! =D

*fave*, of course.

Yours,
Iro(=ö= )
